Shop manager


The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Operations you fill the full-time position as a Shop Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all departments within the repair facility. The Manager will control production to ensure vehicles are delivered in a timely manner and repaired to Excellence standards. The Manager will ensure monthly targets are met and execute change to improve business functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work processes with technicians and other departments of the organization; establish productivity forecasts for technicians
  • Monitors and maintains facility standards and ensures that repairs are completed timely
  • Builds and maintains good working relations with insurance adjusters
  • Ensure a positive customer experience with exceptional customer service skills; handle elevated customer issues and complaints with resolution
  • Inspect work completed by Repair Technicians to ensure a high quality of repair is maintained
  • Resolve employee issues professionally and confidentially in a timely manner
  • Identify and implement strategic opportunities for improvement in department processes and spending
  • Accomplishes assigned tasks and takes initiative to complete tasks not assigned 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an automotive production role
  • Minimum of 5 years managing a diverse staff; possesses strong leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral
  • Familiarity with Mitchell products, insurance claims and Audatex
  • Clear knowledge of the Automotive and Collision industry
  • Familiar with insurance company policies and procedures
  • Previous experience estimating/collision theory is considered an asset
  • A dedication to providing exceptional service to our clients
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
